Hey guys! So I'm here to ask a favor. I'm taking a netspeak class at school which basically identifies and analyzes the linguistic properties on netspeak (for example: emoticons, 1337, omg, *glomps*) and this week I need to pick an online community that I am a part of and start analyzing it. Now, technically I am part of many online fanfiction communities, however I am generally a lurker who pops up every now and then with a random fic review. So really what I'm asking is, what is your view of your main LJ communities? What type of people generally make up the community? How do they relate to each other (in their comments do they use formal forms of speech or more casual familiar forms? Do they use actions like *hugs* and *glomps* with everyone or just people they have some sort of relationship with?)? I'm not asking u to do research or anything. That's my job ;) But if you can think of anything off the top of your head gimme a shout. Oh and if you can think of a particular community that really seems to use a lot of netspeak, please lemme know and I'll check it out. Thanx in advance. U guys are the greatest :D *hugs*
